Coates Builders Ltd completed a single storey extension and partial garage conversion for us in November 2007. They took on the entire project which involved digging the foundations, brickwork and roof construction, glazing, plumbing, plastering and Rendering, electrical fixings, decoration and hard landscaping.

All their work was of an extremely high standard and they were always conscientious, courteous, hard working, helpful, methodical, punctual and reliable. They communicated very effectively throughout the whole project and their friendly and professional manner meant that it was a pleasure dealing with them. Their work was always executed in a clean and tidy way.

Following the successful completion of the above project to refurbish and extend the bungalow at East Meon, I must write to you to say how well the contract went, in our opinion. This is in no small part, due to your excellent performance on site, which we feel was a combination of good management, good craftsman ship, and good communications.

The resulting project, was a pleasure to work on with you, and I know that the client was particularly impressed with your attitude and attention to detail, at all stages of the project.

Since completion of the project I have had a letter from the trust’s solicitors, advising us that at a meeting of the family, all members voiced the opinion, that this was a job very well done, and everyone was very pleased with the outcome. In view of the difficult history of the building, that some of the members of the trust have previously experienced, this was a very good outcome.

I was particularly pleased, that you sought solutions to problems, and presented possible options rather than interrupt the work, when you encountered a difficulty. The innovation that you brought to this project, to meet the very tight deadlines, during the period of extremely inclement weather at the start of the contract, was in no small part responsible for the success of the project. This, coupled with your professional approach to the management of the project, and a clear audit trail of expenditure indicating the savings and the extras that were agreed upon, has meant that the final account was within expectations, and within the revised budget.

I look forward to working with you in the future on other projects, and again thank you for the talents and skills that you and your team brought to this particular job. Having observed the professionalism with which COATES BUILDERS carried out the alterations to East Holme, East Meon, we asked them to do a garage extension for us as well as re-aligning the roof. We were told it would take three weeks, in fact it took two weeks and two days, which just goes to show their attitude to commit to the job, however large or, as in our case, small.

So impressed with their workmanship, attention to detail, punctuality and cleanliness that we then asked them to paint and re-gutter the whole house. Then they brought in their workforce and completed the task in what seemed the minimum time, nonetheless in a well executed manner.
